We have a 100% success rate & our models are often used in magazines, brochures, catalogues, promotions, fashion shows & the SABC has used our models for the past 9 years in programs like Isidingo, City Setla, Generations, Muvhango & Jacob’s Cross.  We also supply extra’s for movies including the Winnie Mandela Movie.

We offer various packages for new & professional models. You, as new model, may choose to only experience a portfolio shoot or you may wish to be trained as a professional model. SA Beauty will ensure that, should you wish to pursue the industry, you have all the knowledge & experience to equip you as a professional model. SA Beauty will expose you to different assignments in order for you to gain experience in the industry. We also conduct up to 3 magazine shoots per month & which includes swimwear & fashion shoots in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Mauritius.

We categorize our models under the following selections:
Swimwear, Photographic (short models) & Catwalk / Runway. Combining all these categories makes marketing our experienced models a pleasure!  More than 300 of our models have been seen in various, well known fashion magazines in 20011.

SA Beauty guarantees each model who has joined our agency one assignment within 3 weeks.  Should you decide to further pursue the industry, you need to do an evaluation (free of charge) by which you will be assessed as an A, B or C model.

Should your hip measurement exceed the required 93cm, you will exclude yourself from most assignments. We do however, offer a modeling guide (R190.00) which will assist you with a healthy eating routine & some very valuable modelling tips.

We communicate via sms to our models on a weekly basis on upcoming assignments, competitions, screen tests & updates of portfolios & z cards.  Please respond to these sms's immediately & if you not interested or if this is not applicable to you please "IGNORE" the message.

Also note that there is a cancellation fee of R350.00 as we book the studio, make-up artist & photographer for your shoot as soon as you confirm your booking.

SUN CITY - MAGAZINE SHOOT!!!

Next magazine shoot for new models will be at the extravagent Sun City  2012! The bus will leave the studio at 06h00 the morning, to be on time for breakfast at the Palace at 08h00. The photo shoot will start around 10h00 at the Lost City & Valley Of The Waves & end at about 16h00. You will be transported with a luxurios bus to enjoy a day filled with fun in the sun!!!

Blast from the past take us back this month to 1999

S.A Beauty held a fashion show in conjuntion with the Emerald Casino and Safari resort, where 104 of our Models were seen in top fashion designer outfits, fashion designer Douglas Payton won with a spectacular outfit seen on the picture (model Lizette).

Sasolburg Youth Care Centre at S.A Beauty

We had lots of fun with the girls from Sasolburg youth care centre on Saturday. Ansie Venter brought 4 Orphan Girls from the centre and we treated these girls like models, Lizette did the make up her self, Robin did a full portfolio shoot of all the girls and gave them the pictures.

Hands of Compassion and the Purple heart foundation.

We at S.A Beauty aslo started a new initiative for under privilage potential models, and compiled portfolio,s Z Cards, train them and done magazine shoots and impliment them into the industry with great success. We have done more than 300 free photoshoots in 2009.

Advice to new models

I started modeling with S.A Beauty when I was 4 years old, hey, I will be honest we had good days and bad but we worked it out and have done fashion shows all over national and International, but I always start with training not just because it make sense but I want to know what I am doing.

At the age of 12, I was able to do 50 different poses and 7 different face expressions’ have done a few magazine shoots and fell in love with it. Well at 14 I did an evaluation at S.A Beauty and earn the status of a professional model, I am able to do 80 different poses and 7 face expretions for different assignments Beauty, Glammour, Catalogue, commercial and artistic. And yes 30 different stunning swimwear poses.

There are a few things that are very important, 3 things should match;  face expression, pose and outfit. Training is a must, confidence in what you are doing and in yourself ,practice to perfection and you need lots of exposure be seen be heard get your name out there,  do it with passion, do every assignment a job well done, always give your best. Always look exceptional good, look after your, nails, hair, teeth, arm pit shaved, body condition always in perfect shape.

If you are late for a shoot you are unreliable, if your hips measurement exceed 93 cm you disqualify yourself of all assignments and the outfits will not fit you, if you do not pitch up for assignments you fired yourself and would not be rehired,  if you rely on the photographer to help you with poses don’t expect to get compensation because he is doing your job for you and you waste time give it to someone that could produce the assignment.  If your hair, teeth ,nails armpits, body shape and skin tone is not in perfect condition do not concider a shoot ,if you just neglected to look after it, sis!!! step out girl you do not deserve to be a model.

Hey, I have seen models swap outfits on a fashion show and end up with the only outfit not belonging to that designer’s lineup, and the designers making a seen on the show and legal complication as well, but the bad part is the designer refuse to work with the agency again because of two models stupidity. I have been on an International shoot for designer wedding gowns were a so called model (no training) refuse to come out of her room because she don’t like her hair the way the hairstylist did it, “duh girl” it’s not about you, it all about the outfit, everybody on set is professionals and you not, what did you expect they would take your advice, well long story short she waist 4 hours,  redo make up and the hair she pulled out, and everybody hired for an extra 4 hours plus venue hire, that was the last of her career.

I have done lots of assignments International and national, but also lost out on a lot, do not blame your agencies or anybody, you are only as good as you speak of some one else. S.A Beauty gave me exposure, I have paid for some or for most in my learning stage but some I have done for free and lots I got paid for, some well and most just enough, I have seen lots of models blame agencies but they could not ever do 10 poses on their own or different face expressions even if the photographer guide her, have bad conditioning on nails, hair color grown out and bodies in bad shape exceeding 93 cm on the hips, but expect to get lots of assignments, I have done lots and lots of screen tests and made a few but never complained. I know there is a lot to concider not just beauty but the right model with the right look for each assignment. A swimsuit model for a swimwear assignment or a glamour model for a glamour assignment and different fashion houses have their own look, I have done International assignments ,we start as early as 4am and I've never complained, never late and would not dare not pitch up.

I have seen models come late or do not pitch up for shoots and the director chase them away and they still have the audacity to bad mouth the agency, If your are late your, venue hire is expensive. The make-up artist, hair stylist and photographers get paid per hour and are very expensive, and can you believe it models still ask photographers to show them the poses and then expect to get compensation.

If you expect compensation for an assignment you have to perform and be worth it, just your looks is not good enough, agencies are full of beautiful models who sit back and expect everybody to do the work they cannot do and expect
agencies to get them in Hollywood ASAP, should you fail to perform and they have to redo a shoot you will end up paying more than you can afford to reshoot it on location.

Did you know that models in training will have a 100% attendance as long as they get trained by the agency, (Personal training step by step) but only 9 % will practice what they have learned ,so if they have to perform what they have learned it ends there, because they are too lazy or whatever excuse? The agency’s proved it by offering all the models in training a free photo shoots in the training category, for example (a free catalogue shoot), only the same
9% will take on the free offer, you know why? because this 9% will know how to perform in front of the camera and make the shoot a success. Well a shoot like that, will set you back R1500 which they got free of charge.

So next time you hear a model bad mouth an agency know she fell in the above catagories.

S.A Beauty give models lots of opportunity to get trained and get the neccessary exposior and I personally will guaranty that.

I don’t need advice good or bad from someone who has no experience or training or at least show me the evidence, let’s put those "so called" models strait, that bad mouth other models and agencies. Who are they? and show me what you have accomplished.

Be proud in what you are doing be positive be worth it to be a model, work hard, Master the arts of your craft first and then go out and be creative. That was Robin's words to me when I started. You are not a model yet if you have a portfolio a z card and have a few magazine shoots, where the photographer helps you with all the poses. S.A Beauty have always been there for me, but I always produced what is expected of me, gave it my best and look apart, I've been in lots of magazines but never had privilege of a cover page, but I work hard on it, that IS MY DREAM so WISH me all the best.

I wish to encourage potential models out there even if you are to short give it a go, all or nothing.

Do you know what my hobby is in my spare time, I go out on magazine shoots on Saturdays’ free of charge and assist them (new models) make them feel at ease help them, new in the industry with stunning poses, and spent the day with them share experiences and knowledge with them.

We have lurned a lot from 94.7 the radio station, (Jeremy Mansfield) they set the example about giving back to the comunity and the Underprivileged.

I really want to see the industry grow in the right direction in South Africa and that is S.A Beauty’s Vision as well, we helped hundreds every year in rural arias with portfolio’s, Z cards and magazine shoots, under privileged children and Orpans and that free of charge not cost. But these girls need Knowledge and experience.
